Dyeable Shoes

Many brides have difficulty finding shoes that closely match the colour they've chosen for their gown, or their bridesmaids' dresses. With all that goes into wedding planning, the last thing a bride needs is to be stressed out about finding the perfect shade of cream to match the lace on her dress, or the exact olive colour of the sashes on her bridesmaids' gowns. Weddings today have also largely strayed from traditional whites and ivories to include almost any colour, so more brides are dyeing their wedding shoes to reflect their decor and individual style. It's important to keep in mind that shoes will look a lot different outdoors than they do indoors, so let the dyer know the lighting conditions so they can best adjust the colour. There could be a colour difference between batches, so if you are dyeing more than one pair of shoes make sure they are all done in the same batch to minimize colour differences. You can also buy dyeable handbags, which are an attractive way to colour coordinate accessories to match the bridal shoes. Once your wedding shoes have been dyed, use a water repellent spray on them to prevent running and staining from moisture. Although this will protect the shoes from water, it does not make them waterproof. Once they have been sprayed with the water repellent they cannot be redyed, so ensure that they are the right colour before treating them.
